Ord Street is a complete renovation and extension of an existing home, transforming a dated property into a contemporary single-storey residence that sets a new standard for the street. From early demolition and structural works through to the final stages of fitout, this project required a skilled hand at every turn - integrating a substantial new addition seamlessly with the existing structure while delivering a result that feels cohesive and considered throughout.
The new addition is immediately striking - dark charcoal cladding, clean flat rooflines, and an abundance of glazing that floods the interior with natural light. Full-width sliding door systems connect the living spaces directly to a generous hardwood deck, purpose-built for entertaining and designed to blur the boundary between inside and out. The contrast between the dark cladding, warm red-toned timber feature panels, and rich hardwood decking creates a bold yet balanced exterior palette.
Internally, the home is well-resolved - plasterboard freshly set, windows perfectly framed, and the view from inside looking out over the completed deck and established garden already telling the story of what life in this home will feel like.
Renovation and extension projects bring their own complexity - working within an existing structure, maintaining tight tolerances, and keeping the build moving across multiple stages simultaneously. 15 Ord Street is a strong example of that work done well.
